Though literacy levels and elementary school attendance are high, one of the biggest problems affecting children and adolescents in Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire is the high number of school dropouts – young people who leave the school system without a high school diploma.

Most of the youngsters affected are from poor or low income families of whom both parents are working. The Ministry of Education is currently working on what is called ‘education after regular hours’, through which it seeks to support these families. Main goal: reduce the risk of having dropouts and consequently reduce the risk of youngsters falling into the crime circuit.

In cooperation with teachers and youth leaders we want to offer this target group free of charge Scripture Portions, in the hope that together we will introduce our Lord to those who need Him in their lives.

This will give the not for profit foundations and organizations that are eager to receive Scriptures the opportunity to offer God’s word to youngsters. Secondly and the most important one; With these scriptures and together with the leaders we will introduce our Lord to the youngsters who need Him in their lives.
